Men Skin Care: Hair Removal Methods For Men

May 28th, 2009

Hair removal techniques are used by a lot of people today, which include men. These differ from tweezers, shaving creams, and many more. The choice depends completely on the person as their hair and skin types differ. There are times that a product that works on one person might not work out on another. So, for men skin care, having good knowledge about those various shaving and hair removal choices will help you discern what’s best for your skin and hair.

One popular technique of hair removal for men and women is shaving. It’s been solved in numbers all throughout the world because of its safety and cost benefits. As you shave, it cuts the hair at the skin’s surface. The wide variety of razors that can be purchased in the market gives an individual a chance to use different styles that offer different levels of comfort and closeness. Razors are quite cheaper compared to the other techniques of hair removal for men. Aside from those disposable types, electric razors can be used for a smooth, clean shave.

The only disadvantage of shaving are the skin irritations one can have and the quick re-growth of hair. This occurs because shaving only removes the hair on the surface and not under the skin and this is the reason why the tendency for the hair to grow back is much higher than other methods. It’s best to use it on a skin that isn’t so sensitive and whose hair doesn’t grow back that fast.

Depilatory creams is another great way of removing hair for men. It’s true that these creams are used by many women, men too could also use it to remove their unwanted body hair. Once applied and kept on the skin for about 10 minutes, these creams will dissolve the hair located at the root. This feature make them effective skin care products (just like products such as those creams that serve as cure for stretch marks, skin lightening creams, etc.). Hair re-growth will take a longer time and is quite better than shaving. Skin irritation can happen for sensitive skins.

Before, a lot of women utilized sugaring and waxing as techniques of hair removal. But these days these methods has become quite popular among men. Although it’s quite painful, waxing is an effective way of removing hair from the root.

Some men have unwanted hair growing in their ears and nose. As a part of men skin care, personal shavers are quite effectively used in removing hair located in the most difficult areas of the body. This is the best technique among men in shaving those areas as it causes the least amount of skin irritation.
