Macular Degeneration Options for Treatment

For those that have been diagnosed with Wet ARMD, the options for treatments for macular degeneration depend on how soon the disease was discovered. The earlier the diagnosis, the better chance you have of preserving and saving your eyesight. One option available to treat the wet form of the disease is photodynamic therapy. This therapy combines a light-sensitive drug and a cold laser to get rid of abnormal blood vessels. Another option is laser therapy as a macular degeneration treatment. Laser therapy uses high-energy lights to get rid of abnormal blood vessels that are actively growing.
