The revolution is on its way. You can now take a regular bike and convert it into an electric powered green transportation machine, with a hub motor kit. This turns a bike into a regular electric bike, allowing the rider to easily overcome hills, long distances, wind, hot weather, low energy, lack of time, or any of the other impediments to riding a bike. It also helps the rider ride faster, in order to keep up with traffic better. People who get an electric bike or convert their bike with a kit almost always ride their bike more often, and get more exercise. They get to enjoy being outdoors, soaking up the sun to produce healthy Vitamin D, and they feel like a more intimate part of their surroundings. It is surprising that people in N. America haven’t yet discovered the advantages of electric bikes en masse, but the trend is a rising one. More and more people try one out and fall in love with the freedom it provides – freedom from paying for gas, freedom from the oil companies, and freedom from pollution.
